A single agency for food safety

China will create a single agency to handle any food regulation.

It is the People"s Congress that will give the approval at the next meeting. Regulation and enforcement of laws integrated into a single body, similar to the American Food and Drug Administration.

The current system, with many decision points and 13 government agencies, has lost the confidence of Chinese consumers.
